Presidentti ja republikaanien presidenttiehdokas Donald Trump kohtasi USA:n vaalien ensimmäisessä väittelyssä aamulla Suomen aikaa demokraattien presidenttiehdokkaan ex-varapresidentti Joe Bidenin.
Väittelyä kuvailtiin yleisesti kaoottiseksi. CBS Newsin pikakyselyssä 48 prosenttia katsoi Joe Bidenin voittaneen ja 41 prosenttia katsoi Donald Trumpin voittaneen. 10 prosenttia uskoi tasapeliin.
81 prosenttia katsojista kuvaili väittelyn sävyn olleen negatiivinen. 17 prosenttia sanoi sen olleen positiivinen.
Katsojilta kysyttin, mitä väittely sai heidät tuntemaan. 69 prosenttia vastasi ”vihainen”. 31 prosenttia piti väittelyä viihdyttävänä. 19 prosenttia sanoi tunnelmansa olevan pessimistinen ja 17 prosenttia sanoi saaneensa informaatiota.
